This afternoon Ohio’s Public Health Advisory system changed Cuyahoga County’s level from Orange to Red, meaning exposure and community spread of COVID-19 has increased to ‘very high.’ The State’s recommendation is to limit in person activities as much as possible.

As a result, we will NOT be open on Monday for any in-person school as previously planned, and will need to continue 100% remote learning.

Although we have no way of knowing exactly when we might resume our re-opening plans, we do know that in order to reach Orange again, our county would need two weeks of positive trending data, and that our school’s plan indicates that we will remain remote for 2 weeks AFTER a change to Orange. To summarize, it will be at the very least, 4 more weeks of remote learning and may potentially be longer.

We are disappointed that our plans for next week need to be postponed, but our student and staff safety is paramount and we will continue to communicate and connect with you as we monitor the situation.

There is a scheduled Family Town Hall at 6:00 pm this evening, which was planned to discuss reopening. We will still hold this meeting for families to ask any questions they may have. Please check Jupiter for the Zoom link.

We are disappointed not to welcome students back to the buildings, and look forward to the time when we can do so safely.

Stay well and wear your masks.
