Returning to the School Building

Brooke King, Executive Director and parent of Near West students, and Molly Toussant, Director of Education, hosted their 10th town hall meeting on Thursday, October 8th regarding our Boundless Learning Reopening Plan.
The Road to Boundless Learning
The Intergenerational Schools began the school year on September 8th with all students learning remotely for the first six weeks of school due to Cuyahoga County being at a Level 3 on the Ohio Public Health Advisory. Since then, the county has moved to a Level 2 on the advisory system, and we are ready to welcome staff and students back into the school buildings with our top priority being health and safety!
Town Hall Recap
This town hall focused on how the Intergenerational Schools are preparing for staff and students to return to the school buildings the week of October 19th.
Brooke King spent time updating families on new safety procedures and precautions that the Intergens are implementing in regards to arrival in the morning, what a typical classroom will look like, illness procedures and cleaning & disinfection schedules and more.
Molly Toussant discussed the school building experience and what that will look like the same and different from a typical year.

Returning to the School Buildings
While many students will be returning the building on the week of October 19, some students will remain remote learning, if they so choose.
We are offering three options for our students as we return to the school buildings:
Remote - Students will receive four full days of remote instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday, students will have a half day of remote instruction.
In Person - Students will learn in the building four days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday, students will have a half day of remote instruction.
Hybrid - Students will learn in the building two days a week on either Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday. Wednesday, students will have a half day of remote instruction.
Teachers will be reaching out to every student and their family to see which option would work best for their family.
