Meet Ms. Overton

Joining our team in late 2020, Kierra Overton will working with Lakeshore, Near West, and TIS – East on student recruitment and re-enrollment.  

Ms. Overton comes to us with a wealth of community and family engagement experience, and as a parent to a Lakeshore student, Kierra is no stranger to the Intergenerational Community! 

Ms. Overton received her bachelor's degree from Cleveland State University and master's degree from Case Western Reserve University.

What drew you to working education?

My internship working in the Fairview Hospital School-Based Health Center drew me to working in education. The center was located in the Louis Agassiz Elementary School. I was able to provide mental health services to kids in the school, as well as teach character education classes to several classrooms. The center also had a nurse who I would assist with various health initiatives within the school.

What is your favorite thing about our school?

I love seeing kids being excited about learning. Also, I enjoy seeing kids form positive relationships with our Learning Partners.
