Meet Mrs. Ruedin

We want to a recognize a familiar face within the Lakeshore Community, Erika Ruedin! Mrs. Ruedin has been teaching Primary Cluster at Lakeshore for 7 years after graduating from Cleveland State University.

What drew you to working education?

I enjoy working with kids and seeing them grow throughout the year. I also love children's literature and getting to share it with my students.

What is your favorite thing about our school?

I love seeing our learning partners working with the kids. I love walking through the hallways and seeing adults and students engaged in conversations; conversations about literature, but also just conversations about life.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I love living near Lake Erie. One of my favorite hobbies is collecting sea glass or flying a kite at the beach!

Meet Ms. Ellis

As we continue our Staff Spotlight Series, we are recognizing Katelynn Ellis! Ms. Ellis has been teaching Primary Cluster at Near West Intergenerational School for 5 years. Ms. Ellis graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and taught for 2 years before joining the Near West Community!

What drew you to working in education?

I've always wanted to be a teacher!

What is your favorite thing about our school?

My favorite thing about Near West is the community!

I've climbed 8 volcanoes in 6 different countries!

Meet Mr. Ridinger

We are excited to recognize Jon Ridinger! Mr. Ridinger has been teaching for 11 years and is entering his third year at TIS-East. He teaches Music to Primary Cluster students and Digital Media for Developing through Applying Stage students. Mr. Ridinger received his bachelor's degree and master's degree from Kent State University!

What drew you to working in education?

I have always enjoyed working with others and learning! I have a long family heritage in education going back to my great-grandma!

What makes our school special?

We really do listen to each other and our community, and we do our best to meet everyone’s needs.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I have worked for the Cleveland Browns since 2014 and as a supervisor since 2018. I am a regular National Anthem singer for the Cleveland Indians, even in 2020!
